The new homologous Quantitative Fathead minnow (Pimephales promelas) Vitellogenin (Vtg) ELISA test kit has been developed for reliable and sensitive detection of Vtg in plasma and whole body homogenate samples of this important lab fish species. The ELISA kit is suitable for both basic fish endocrinology and for routine analysis of endocrine disrupting effects (estrogenic and anti-estrogenic) in fish, and can easily be combined with fish tests according to OECD Guidelines.
Due to the unique combination of components, the assay is highly sensitive (standard curve working range 0.1-25 ng/ml, LoD 0.02 ng/ml, LoQ 0.09 ng/ml). The assay has been through both single-lab (in-house) and inter-lab validation, and shows excellent Accuracy and Precision. The assay running time is only 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Note: A five-plate kit contains 2 vials of Vtg, sufficient to run two separate assays (for example 2 plates + 3 plates). If more reagents are needed, contact customerservice@biosense.com.
